Hawkhost Git Now Available on cPanel

With a lot of new features coming in the Hawkhost shared hosting, the company is bringing various improvements to its web hosting servers. Hawk Inc. has recently enhanced their web hosting services by upgrading the hosting servers to cPanel 72. This will give an impetus to many exciting and innovative features.

By upgrading to cPanel 72, the hosting service has facilitated the much-anticipated Git version control support. Git is a distributed version control system used by all open source projects commercially for tracking changes in files and coordinating work when multiple people are involved in a project. Through git open source space, you can find most popular and technical savvy projects on GitHub and Gitlab. With the new incorporation of the Git support, you can leverage many advanced features and concepts in your cPanel.


After your login to cPanel, you will find a brand new “Git version control” that will take you straight to the GIT management page. From there, you can go to the GIT repository page and create an actual repository or use the same page to clone your own repository. Now that you have created the repository or cloned it, you will be able to manage your new or cloned repository. With this new feature, you can manage and monitor it from list repository page.






Advantages of Hawkhost Git version control

With the latest advancement to incorporate the much requested Git support, you can now view the history of the new or cloned repository. This will include a complete list of all the commits, branches and tags. Also, modifying the repository by changing the active checked out branch is also possible.

The feature is currently limited but with the upcoming launch of cPanel 74, there would be a wide range of features to enhance the workflow of Git Version control.

What can you expect after the release of cPanel 74?

Ability to deploy the changes automatically or manually from cPanel – hosted repositories.

SCARYPE various deployment task to several repositories with the custom .cpanel.yml file.

The system pulls options will work only if the Branch head commit is updated with the “-ff-only” option or if Git can fast forward it.

With new upcoming features and release of cPanel 74, you don’t have to do anything for the git to get working. It is already pre-installed in the Hawkhost cPanel shared hosting. Once the cPanel 74 is released, many users will utilize it to commit and deploy updates on their website code repository.
